Job Description
As a Deputy Manager, you will assist the Registered Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the children's residential home, ensuring the highest standards of care are provided. You will lead and inspire a dedicated team of Support Workers, working closely with children and their families to support their emotional, social, and developmental needs.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * Assist in the management and delivery of high-quality care for children with learning disabilities.\n\n * Lead, mentor, and support a team of carers, ensuring they adhere to policies and procedures.\n\n * Oversee the development and implementation of care plans using ClearCare, ensuring they are tailored to individual needs.\n\n * Work closely with families, social workers, and other professionals to provide holistic support for each child.\n\n * Ensure all compliance and regulatory standards are met, including safeguarding and health & safety protocols.\n\n * Handle staff scheduling, training, and performance management.\n\n * Maintain up-to-date records using ClearCare, including incident reports, care logs, and assessments.\n\n * Promote a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the home, encouraging personal development and life skills.\n\nRequirements:\n\n * Proven experience in children’s residential care, particularly with children who have learning disabilities.\n\n * Previous experience using the ClearCare system for care planning, reporting, and record-keeping.\n\n * NVQ Level 3 or higher in Children and Young People (or equivalent) – Level 5 preferred.\n\n * Strong leadership and team management skills.\n\n * In-depth knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.\n\n * Ability to build strong relationships with children, families, and professionals.\n\n * Excellent communication and organizational skills.\n\n * A compassionate and empathetic approach to working with children with additional needs.\n\nBenefits:\n\n * Competitive salary and benefits package.\n\n * Ongoing training and development opportunities.\n\n * Supportive and collaborative team environment.\n\n * Opportunities for career progression within the organization.\n\n * Pension scheme and generous holiday entitlement.\n\nIf you are an experienced and dedicated professional with a passion for making a difference in the lives of children with learning disabilities, we would love to hear from you.\n\nSCR social care is committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of vulnerable adults / children as a priority.
